Geez. I’m really angry at myself for somehow catching a cold right before our planned Sequoia camping trip. It ended up we had to stay home because I couldn’t take a chance at being sick while in a tent with 3 other people for 4 days. Well, since the cold is minor, I figured I’d work on the blog a little bit.

I spotted this burgundy pillowvase made by San Carlos Pottery at the thrift the other day. It reminds me slightly of the unknown Ken’s of California vase that I’ve come across several time. Unfortunately, it had damage, and at the time I didn’t think it was worth it to pick up. So I’ve only got this picture.

This is another of those California companies who produced a good amount of pottery, but their history has been lost or obscurred due to the passage of time. I think the time period was probably 1930-1950s where they produced most of their items, which in general was limited to simpler, single color glaze pieces like this vase.
