We just returned from a week long trip up the coast of California. Starting in Los Angeles we drove up to Monterey, stopping at various points along the way. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting up some of the Calif. Pottery items that we ended up picking up at the many antique stores and thrift shops. We actually didn’t buy TOO many items (well, we had a little bit of restraint at least) but I did take some pictures of unusual items and some companies that aren’t yet in the reference gallery. So I’ll put those up too as time goes on.

This was a wonderful find for a dollar at a thrift store. It’s a Metlox plate with a pattern called Central Park. It’s very recognizable - I’ve seen the pattern several times before but they always wanted an arm and a leg for it. This pattern is on a shape known as Shoreline, and was introduced around 1953. I believe that there wasn’t much demand for it and probably the production was limited.
