Jaru Vase

Recently, I had a chance to create a gallery for Jaru Art Products. I’ve been meaning to do this for quite awhile now - I come across their ware unfrequently, but enough that it deserves to be mentioned. I liked this floral vase because it looked different than some of their newer items, which are often a bit “tacky” and make me want to start singing 1980s pop songs. This one had a chip on the back but I got it anyway a few years ago.
I’ve also found a gold starburst decaled ashtray that I’ll post up in a bit. I would really like to find some of the older items from the 1950s, there are some really interesting pieces. The company lasted into the 1990s which is unusual for older potteries from California. An interesting thing about Jaru is that some of their newer items (1970s and up) are marked with the company name on the SIDE of the piece, usually near the bottom. These newer pieces are often dated in that location as well - my vase has a 1979 date on the bottom side.

Hi
I just recently picked up a Jaru piece that is a bowl or cigarette ash tray? It is gold, with specks of red, green, and black. The inside is smooth black, and the outside is designed with dents, and looks like men holding something above their heads (if they are men). If you know anything about this piece or would like to see a photo, just email me and let me know.
