Awhile back, we came across this Howard Pierce turtle planter at an antique store and just had to bring it home. The style of the turtle is different than the “Murtle the Turtle” statue that welcomes visitors to Joshua Tree - but remember that turtle was not originally designed by Pierce. We haven’t seen the Pierce turtles too frequently, which was another reason we decided to pay antique store prices to add this little guy to our collection.

Marked on the bottom with an ink stamp “Howard Pierce”. The turtle has no “hole” in the bottom - we often see that with Pierce items that have holes on the top like planters and flower holders.
