Chalice Company, Not Cup
OK, so this actually IS a cup. But I meant to highlight that the name of the California company that produced this cup is actually called Chalice of California. I don’t see their items too frequently, but this cup by them was at an antique mall so I snapped off a quick pic for the reference.
They have some really interesting designs, punctuated by “squiggles” like the one on this cup. They also favored a very gritty, rough glaze for their items. I hope to come across more of their pieces in the future. Because it’s a less common company, they’re often misidentified. Leading to the confusion is the rather “freeform” nature of the signatures used on the back of their ware.

I just aquired a Chalice Lamp base at a Thrift store. It has an inscribed lobster on it, and is signed Chalice for Martha. I have never seen a lamp, I have several other pieces, such as 4 mugs, and a vase. I am very excited about it, and just wanted to share, as I cannot find any info on it.
