I picked up this interesting little vase the other day which was produced by Calpotter, a midcentury Laguna Beach business. I have to admit that it’s not really my style - I mainly picked it up at the local thrift to have a good example of the backstamp. It’s a very gaudy and busy design featuring what looks like a bunch of grapes and other plants highlighted with gold paint. There were quite a few small potteries like Calpotter producing in the Laguna Beach area in the 40s-50s.
