Bauer Featured in Los Angeles Times

I was just informed that there is an article on the new Bauer Pottery Co. in the Los Angeles Times. If you’re like me and don’t read the newspaper any longer, you’re in luck because the full text of the story is located online here.
The article talks about how the Bauer trademark was revived by a collector named Janek Boniecki. There’s some really good information here - I’ll have to update the Bauer gallery info I have. So the factory in Highland is indeed the one where the pottery is produced. It’s a 40,000 sq ft. factory near San Bernardino that was making the newer Bauer pottery, but Boniecki actually purchased it when the owner retired.
Interestingly, the Bauer 2000 pieces were not made from the older molds. They had to reverse-engineer the dies from scratch by using vintage Bauer pieces as models. Also - it turns out that only 30 percent of the output from the factory is actually the newer Bauer pots. In order to make ends meet, they need to sub-contract out to produce other ceramics for different companies.
