I actually took a field trip to Gainey Ceramics the other day. The company is still manufacturing excellent gardenware items and has also expanded into tiles. They have a website that gives some history of the company as well as shows some of the various colorful items they have for sale. I really like their designs which are modern and clean, with simple lines.

The company has a “secret” outlet lot sale going on next to the plant Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm. They sell a limited number of seconds, overruns and discontinued colors for both containers and tile. There smallest pots are only $5 while larger ones run to $50 or more. But they are a real bargain, and I couldn’t really tell the difference between the pots sold here and the ones sold at retail. On that note, other than this outlet store, the factory is not open to the public - so if you want to buy newer Gainey items you’ll have to get them through their retailers.
