Hueckel China & Porcelain produced various ceramic items, but what seems to turn up the most at collectibles shows and flea markets are their ashtrays featuring industrial themes, especially water pumps. They are listed in Lehners Encyclopedia of Marks under a catch-all entry for “El Monte, California Varioius Potteries”, along with Miali Pottery. I’ve seen Miali quite a bit more frequently than Hueckel. Interestingly, both Miali and Hueckel seem to still be in operation today, albeit in different forms.
Mike L. posted the photos of the Hueckel ashtray shown below. The pottery started in 1953 and was located in El Monte - at least one of the addresses of the company was on Durfee. Lehner says that the company ran as late as 1977, but we think that Hueckel became a modern company (HCP Industries) after moving to Chico. That information came from Ceramic Source Vol 1, 1986.
